Billy may be the star and main character in Billy Elliot the Musical, which made a week-long stop in Omaha last week, but it’s the young ballet dancers that add some comedic humor and “razzle dazzle” throughout the show. Did I mention that these young dancers go through school in the morning and then end up on stage at night. These ballet dancers, the youngest being Cal, 7, go through a 30-minute warm-up before every performance. They don’t just go through positions one through five repeatedly. Alison Soloman, a dance captain, runs the warm-up like a classroom and throws in some choreography and pilates, too.

Watch the video to hear about how these young actors enjoy being on tour and why they warm-up before every performance.
