Final touches being put on “Miracle on Farnam” displays

Fourteen store-fronts along Midtown Crossing have become holiday-themed construction zones featuring several local organizations, including The Durham Museum, Omaha Community Playhouse and the Joslyn Castle Trust. The decorating of store fronts is an old Omaha tradition that for some reason drifted away. Midtown Crossing is hoping to bring it back.

I was given a sneak-preview of some of the displays ahead of Thursday’s grand opening.

Watch  a video to learn about the history behind the Joslyn’s display and how a few of the workers feel this could be a reinvention of an old Omaha holiday tradition.
